Default LS400 1997 - issues after installing stereo

Here's the story, after about 5 hours of trying to read a diagram and wiring stuff correctly, me and my friend couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Instead as we were trying to figure out why, I started the car and accidentally touched wires together and I hear sound, so I used the diagram and listen to which speaking has sound coming out and wired it that way.

The radio I have is a JVC KD-HDR50.

My questions are:

1)I got the antenna working, but it goes on whenever my stereo goes on. How can I make it so it only goes on with the FM radio?

2)There is some static when the stereo is on, it seems to be coming from the Ls400 OEM amp. Is there any way I take away the static?

3)When wiring it, the diagram says there is only one power cable, I connected the yellow (should be power when ACC or something) and the red (power to battery) both to the same power wire that was in the original harnesses. By doing this, it powers up the radio even when the car is off. I tried wiring it so it only comes on when the car is on, it didn't work because there is not another outlet. Is there any way I can make it turn on only when the car turns on?

1. No, no way to do what you want (antenna up only when FM on).
2.Push the power wire away from other wires.
3.yellow and red wires should be connected to different wires.
4. Do you feed the OEM amp with the speaker level signals?

The power wire is in it's own little area, a few inches away from the rest of the wires, and that's as far as it will go.

As for the yellow and red wires, the is only one power cord, so I'm guessing I will have to wire one from my battery.

And the static, the remote turn on and is going directly to the OEM amp, along with all speakers, power, and the ground.

If I wired all my speakers and stuff without the oem amp would that just be better?

to your antenna question, on the radio harness there should be a blue/white wire and a straight blue wire, switch the wire that's connected to the blue/white to the straight blue wire, not sure if that will affect the factory amp from coming on, but i think itll be fine, easy to test just tap the wires before you make any permanent connections and see if there's still sound when listening to cds,... oh and red wire on the harness should go to the gray wire on the factory harness, thats the correct ignition wire,

I checked, and there is no blue only wire, just a blue/white.

I also tried putting the red wire from the stereo, and wired it to the grey wire and I didn't get any power at all. I tried starting the car and everything.

yeah i just checked the install manual and there's no blue i guess jvc decided to leave it out for some reason, but gray should be ignition, does your cigarette lighter work check your radio fuse, and for the noise, when you turn the volume up when your radio is on is it very sensitive? like at 10 its pretty loud already, if so you can use a line converter to send rca signals from the radio to the amp instead of using the speaker outputs on the radio, ill try and find a pic of what im talking about.. heres a link that might help for now, http://www.lextreme.com/misc2.htm click on the 1uz radio diagram link

The blue-white wire should be connected to BOTH ANTENNA WIRE and REMOTE TURNON (such as amp turn on). JVC did a great cost-cut job.

With that JVC HD, your antenna would be always up when you turn on the head unit.

Check this thread

Your red wire should be connected to the radio connector C, the C6 wire for Ignition.

I tried that grey wire again and it still doesn't work. Usually it blows out a fuse but this time I was lucky and it didn't.

Would a line level converter like that work? Just a standard one from walmart?
