Default ES350 NAvigation swap

Hi, I have an 07 es350 without nav. I would like to upgrade it to a factory navigation system. I know i will need a complete nav display with dvd player and ac controls to replase my base cd player with ac controls, I will also need a gps antena. My question is would it be plug&play or I will need a special harness to perform this ?

it will be very expensive, better to go with aftermarket Eclipse brand IMO...

yes it can be done. i made a custom harness for a es350 retrofit and it worked quite well. i even made special harness to switch the bluetooth connector on the back of non nav p1809 radio so blue tooth was wired into the screen bluetooth module. in all it took me over 20 hours to make the es350 custiom plug in and play harness..................................................... so it is not an easy task but quite doable. lexus dealers would rather you buy a new es350 with nav not upgrade your current . we all know what that would cost to trade a 2007 es350 fior a 2009 nav model. . way more than upgrading your current es350.
as far as aftermarket gps units rate they cant hold up against denso . denso navigation systems in lexus are far superior to any aftermarket unit. the es350 not only knows where you are at when losing gps signal it even has input to steering so it knows which way you have turned when there is a fork in the road or freeway ramp. . no aftermarket system can do that.
