Need help with my install
So I've had alpine 6.5's at all four corners in my SC for about a year now and they've been amp'd by an Alpine MRP-F250 for 6 months. Everything was working fine and then today I decided to replace all the factory wiring with new Monster Cable 16ga. I had it all hooked up, went ot turn it on and then all I heard was....click....click....click. I messed with it and found out that only channel 2 and 4 work, now matter which RCA is plugged in. Also as soon as you plug any RCA line into channels 1 or 3 you the music stops and then....click....click....click. What did I do wrong? Fuses were fine, no RCA lines are near power cables, I even switched around the negative and positive lines in channels 1 and 3. Does anyone have any advice?!?!?
Are there any switches on the amp for summing of channels? Did you mess with radio settings at all? Did you get behind the radio, or just do the doors?
1st step is confirming there is signal for that channel. To do this, take the RCA's and cycle them through a speaker that works. If you get sound no matter which RCA you use, you've effectively eliminated the deck and RCA's - thereby leaving the amp.
I'll bet you flicked a switch without realizing it and it's summing the channels.
Hope it helps, let us know!

Not sure what could go wrong internally at that exact moment provided you weren't removing wires "hot." If the car was off and the stereos was as well, I'd be surprised if something went wrong. Sheck it out and let us know, mang.

So I checked the amp and there is no switchable modes. I think something internal is wrong...which is bad. im going to take it to my audio guy on wendsday and have him check it out. Any other suggestions?
It's either the amp or the speakers. Check and make sure you don't have any wires shorting out the speakers. If the amp has a soft protection circuit, it will simply shut down those channels presenting a short and leave the others running. Other than that, see if you can find another 4 channel to test them. That's what your audio guy will likely do before he breaks down the amp.
