stock sub location
with a mounting depth of 6.9".....not even close. you can get away with about 5.5" but even that requires modifying the mount. I think the factory 10" sub has a mounting depth of around 4.25-4.5"
you can fit a 10" sub without cutting. it needs to be low profile as in a "free air" sub.
I use a kicker 10" free air and it works great. it has more than enough bass to rattle everything on the rear deck if i wanted, but i dont keep it up that high.
it is pointless to put a 12" there anyways cause so much will rattle you will not enjoy it at all. not to mention you have to make the hole much larger for a 12"

That kicker looks like a perfect fit ! However their website says "can" be used free air or boxed, seems like a compromise. Anyway, the mounting depth looks perfect, Had I known about this one a few days ago I'd probably give it a shot, but a good friend of mine who is far more into this than me said he would do whatever it took to fit a JL Audio in there. Oh one other point, free air doesn't necessarily mean "low profile" there are lots of new pancake style subs that are NOT free air, yet they are super low profile. Conversly the JL audio marine free air is deeper than many "regular" subs.
