Default GS400 stereo upgrade HELP

Please, SOMEONE help me find the thread that explains how to wire this in--there HAS to be one. I've searched but found nothing.

What I'm installing:
Front speakers: 6.5" Polk db 6500 components
Back speakers: 6.5" Polk db 6500 components
Speaker amp: stock (I think, unless I can find a CHEAP amp that helps sound quality and install a LOT)

Subwoofer: 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect
Subwoofer amp: MTX 250W x 1
Headunit: stock Nak.

What I think I know:
  • The 4 OEM speakers: are powered by the OEM amp--I'm thinking I'll keep that setup for the new speakers. So I'll just cut the speaker wire in the door before it separates to go to the OEM separate speakers and install the x-over there? Making MDF adapters is no problem.
  • There's a plug behind the stereo with two wires that are for the sub, and somehow I need to bypass the amp... I unno--I'm lost here. Not sure what to connect aftermarket RCA cables into, etc.
  • I get the amp remote turn-on from a cig lighter in the car.
  • 98 GS400 with Nak, no nav.

Hopefully you'll find whatever you need. I know how to bypass the amp and tap into the factory "signal wire" and all that but you'll need certain parts and I don't know what's it called. So I doubt I'll be much help and will confuse you even more. Good Luck with the install

I definitely was to keep the OEM stereo--I can't afford one nice enough to not look ricer.

Good to know about the speakers! I picked up two used sets of components for $75! Sounds like money well spent...
