I just special ordered an IS250 and while I am waiting I am trying to figure out the sound system I will install when it gets here. Right now I plan on using a set of Dynaudio 242 GT components for my front speakers, and I would like to install the tweeters in the factory location if possible.
Has anyone had any experience replacing the tweeters in the stock location?
I could install them in the 2.5" locations as a backup plan. Has anyone tried this?
Also, where can I find a listing of the color code for the speaker wires coming out of the amp? I can't seem to find this info.
You'll have to take the Dyns out of their housing. Unbolt the main stem, unsolder the tinsel leads from the main connectors. You might have to superglue the magnet assembly to the dome housing if it comes apart.
From there you'll have to fashion a mount system of some sort, and support for the tinsel leads. Be very careful with the tinsel leads.
Well worth the effort. Makes the stock system sound bad by comparison.
