I have a 2000 sc400 with nakamichi sound system an it sounds good, but its getting a bit old plus i think 2 of the speakers are blown because they have a rattle sound to them now. But i wanna get new door speakers,1 sub woofer an amp. But i wanna use my stock double din to control everything. Is this possible or too much of a pain in the ***, because i was going to have best buy install it for me but i dont want them to touch it, if its that complicated.

 

It's not an overly complicated process to replace the speakers and use an aftermarket amp with the factory HU. BUT, Best Buy may not be the best place to have it done. Some Best Buys have very talented installers while others have hacks. Make sure that the store you go to is familiar with the SC's wiring before you do it. Better would be to hit up people here on CL that are local to you and ask them to recommend a shop in your area.

If you were closer to me I would have had it done for you already!

 

hmmm thanks for the advice i will def ask them about this before i let them go through with the install.

 

wherabouts in VA are you? there is a crutchfield in harrisonburg and in charlottesville....
