will mark levinson speakers work if i swap them in for the pionner units in the front

Why would you even want ML speakers? Go for the aftermarket. ML speakers have had a fairly long history of burning out. Same with their amps.

Definitely not up to snuff of their home equipment.

The 01's have seen a high failure rate. However, it doesnt really make sense to take the speakers (and not really worth the time adn money) and perform teh swap.
