Default headunit power issue sc300

my headunit recently started acting up. i dont know if its my headunit itself or the wiring.

the previous owner had a headunit in there and was hard wired in there to the car harness.

well i took it all out and used the same power supply that he did. it worked for a while but now the deck keeps turning on and off... it did do this when i first installed it but i think the battery was low and couldnt power it because i couldnt start my car either. its a pioneer dehp6800mp

im thinking its the headunit because itll turn off when im just sitting at a light. no vibrations or movement. and the headunit also blacks out and with no lights but it still plays music...

where are you SC guys wiring the power to

he only other thing that comes to mind is the mounting of the unit. Try this... take the player out of the dash and just set it down and try to play a cd that way, if it works, then you have narrowed down the issue, if not, then I would say that it's time to throw the stock crap out the window and get something worthwhile.
