ok audio guru's i have a kenwood deck 2 12'' subs 750rms,1200 watt max each and a 700rms 1000max watt amp, all kenwood,and have ALMOST screwed my alternator so.........if i get a new alternator option 1)get a 4 farad cap and keep my regular battery, option 2)
get new yellow top battery.........or do both,wich should i do and what could be the most cost effective solution on my student budget....thank you all for the insight

That setup should not be killing the alternator. Testing the output of the alternator would be the first step to see if a new one is needed. If the alternator is beginning to fail, a capacitor will not help since it still draws voltage to "fill". PM me when you get a chance since I am in NJ and may be able to lend a hand.
