..COLOR, V1 Radar display Screens..?!?!

Would you trust them??? Keep in mind this in NOT the radar detector itself (I already own that.) I want to hardwire it with the extra display module, however I saw these modified ones. Just wondering if it is trust worth or not. Have to admit a color distinction would help out, I feel thats the one flaw about this detector.
Is it possible that maybe the engineer of this product (display) can make a mistake soldering? Or even when installing the LED's?? For the most part his feedback is pretty good, and makes a business out of doing these soooo
Should I buy this one, or just stick with the classic hardwire display models that go for 39.99$ on www.Valentine1.com?
