I have a 2gs and I previously had aftermarket amps and subs. I removed those but I never managed to reconnect my stock sub. Can anyone give me a clue at where to start?
the stock sub is easy to put back. am assuming when you said you removed all those a/market stuff, you went back to the stock amp, deck and speakers.
as long as your stock sub plug/harness was not chopped off during the installation of those a/market stuff, it should still be where the stock sub used to be.
just plug it back in and you are good to go.
if you are thinking about keeping your a/market deack with your stock sub, then thats different.
good luck

stock HU, and i removed the aftermarket amp and subs. I bought the car with the aftermarket amp and subs but no headunit. I did have to cut some line to disconnect the signal to the aftermarket amp, so now i'm thinking that the stock amp is also disconnected.

the only line which am guessing you would have had to cut to disconnect the a/market sub would be the remote turn on from the stock deck. other than that i do not see any reason why they would touch the stock sub harness to get the a/market working.
if you think about it, all the a/market sub needs to work is power, groundfrom the amp(which do not come from the stock deck), remote turn on(which would be the only thing they would have ran from the stock deck) and which could just be snapped off and then an LLC(line-level converter) just to get RCA signals for the aftermarket sub cos the harness for the stock sub is intergrated into the entire system and does not need RCAs unlike a/market sub.
So, if the previous guy did not go the LLC route andjust chopped off the stock sub plug, then you might be in some trouble.
search around where the stock sub used to be. the plug might be tucked somewhere.
good luck

thanks olddog, i found the factory signal. The way how the last owner cut the line is absurd! i don't have the skill to solder this together..guess i have to take it to a professional.
