How do you defeat the ASL (automatic sound levelizer) on the ES300 pioneer stereo?

I already tried the search tool and it came up empty.

I already know what it is and what it does... so there's no need to dive into that part of the discussion.

 

it's after the fade option iirc.

 

not for the 01 ES300... there is no "fade option"... There is a dedicated fader **** for this year.

My brother suggested fabricating a little fiberglass resin cover to encase the ASL microphone on the dash.. fill it partially with silicone to give the system the illusion of a quiet cabin.
