Default SC400 custom tub **pics**

In what little time I have to work on my own car I get to make my custom tub for the two 12" Realm Audio subs I will be using (www.realmaudio.com). It is in its infancy stages but its coming along nicely. So far the tub and lid are done and I have about 7-8 layers of glass on top and bottom. The top is completely removeable so I can do a custom top piece for whatever I want to put in there. Enjoy! More pics to come...

Hey-- Can I touch it?

That's just nice work there man--

That's nice -- Real nice--

That's nice bro--

What amps and H/U?

I don't see any T/S specs on any of the subs-- definitely something I would need to see before messing with any speaker--

looks like it should be pretty nice. i'm interested to see the rest of it.

in all honesty the Realm subs didn't impress me too much, and their speakers are an almost direct ripoff of the Focal Polyglass line.

They look good though

I'm considering a similar look to my trunk in the future, I'm either going to add a second W7 or go with two of the 23KX woofers to match the 3 way K2P's that are going in the front doors

Thanks for the props guys.

I am currently running an Eclipse AVN-5500 double-din DVD/Nav unit. Its a very nice sounding deck and its got 5 volt pre-outs. Yay!

I chose Realm becuase I was impressed with their amplifiers and component speakers that I listened to. The subs were a little weak but I am sure the enclosure they were in was way too small. I will be getting a D1100.1 and an A600.2 for my LS6C components which will be in custom kick-pods.

I am using 1/0 Gauge wire and Monster XLN RCAs (No, I didn't pay full pop for them). I also have a reverse camera mounted above the licence plate, a Compustar PRO FM alarm and Hushmat deadener all throughout. Remember, I am also in car audio sales so this is my show piece.

I used to have 2 Alpine PDX amps in there powering a set of 5.25" Type X components and my JL13W7 in a custom ported box. The W7 is now in my Civic hatch and I have since sold everything else. Time for something new!
Its a never-ending project.

I really want to see these pods--

I've considered it as I've got a nice 3 way setup I could install.....

What's holding me back is the pods-- I've thought a lot about making a custom glass pod just under the wood trim on the door itself, along the vinyl just b/t the factory mid and tweet-

The only thing is I'm installing some CVL 5.25 comps and those mids play easily high enough and the door enclosures somehow seem to set a decent stage even though the aiming is terrible-- maybe it's reflection or something--

I'm going to take the 3 way challenge here pretty soon. I thought about doing kick panels, but I think I'm going to end up doing the 6.5 and the 4 in the door under where the window and door lock switches go.

I'm getting custom tweeter pods made for the factory location to house those lovely 1.5" focal tweeters.

I've thought about just totally reshaping the door panel and doing a full custom panel forward of the switches--

in essence that's what it's going to be. the whole bottom of the panel is going to be removed and shaped to fit the two mids
