My '03 Lexus ES300 unfortunately requires a fully customized dash fabrication to allow for an aftermarket head unit. However, the audio shop near me apparently specializes in this, and so I'm going to have something similar to the pics in the following link done to mine, albeit a double-din slot. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/show...ht=custom+dash
I'm pretty sure I've settled on the Kenwood KDC-X891, which can at least hold me over till I have the funds for a unit with nav. Does this plan seem like a good one? It should allow for easier future system upgrades, both of the head unit and other audio components, right? Any ideas on what this entire job should cost me? I want to know what to bargain over when I finally go to the shop and discuss the plan and the price.
Any opinions/advice appreciated!
