Velodyne, Focal, IDQ...depending on how much money you are looking to spend.

Question Enclosure?

Mayur - If U go free air, try the JL 10IB4 model but remember that it's an 8 ohm woofer so it'll need more power than a 4 ohm sub. Might want to give the Pioneer TS-W254F some consideration or any of the manufacturers Retro mentioned. For sealed, consider JL's W3 series or ID's subs - don't know their product line.

I'm no veteran, but I just had my OEM sub replaced with a JL-10W3, and I love it. It will boom boom when I want it, but also reproduces clean and tight bass when called for.

Look here if you want to see pics, seveal

Hey Retro out of the sub brands you have listed which one would be best for free air application that would be under a $400 price range.

You can get IDQ's pretty cheap (around $100 or so). Most people think IB applications are no good for them; however, Matt (ID Project Leader/Developer) has told me they are great for that type of application. Also ID is almost ready to release their IDMAX 10" in the begining of next year. That monster is also great for IB applications and puts out twice the IDQ output with the same quality.

Don't let the price of IDQ fool you, there is no way any woofer with same power rating around $300 price can beat IDQ quality. Also, if you manage to find a Focal sub around $300 - $400 get that. It has even better quality then IDQ but the price justifies it.

Actually there are subs out there which were released around a month ago that can take IDQ. One of them is ARC Audio sub, which is basically improved version of IDQ (ARC and ID are working close together). Then there are those Rainbow subs which I have never heard. People say they are arounf Focal quality. Not much info on them yet but my friend is getting some ARCs so I will keep you informed when I listen to them longer to judge.

DIGITAL DESIGNS. Check it out. its some nice stuff...little pricey, but well worth it. 10 inch is already proven to outperform 2JL 12inch W6... heard for myself too.. best quality i ever heard.
