Default Powering two 12"L7

Hey guys, my friend just ordered two 12" kicker L7s in their ported box.
We were looking at good amplifiers to power these but a few questions came up. We are looking to put about 2000 watts (1000 to each sub). He drives a Navigator and has everything stock right now - thinking of upgrading the headunit to something double din.
Questions are:
A) What brands for high output amplifiers would you recommend. I've heard that JL, MTX, Alpine, Phoenix Gold, and possibly JBL and Kicker. Someone tell me about Hifonics, they look nice and all but I've seen threads about how they suck, can someone varify?
B) For installation purposes, is two seperate amplifiers a viable solution?
C) Will this need a yellowtop or a new alternator or a capacitor?
D) Do Grilles interfere with output?

Hopefully he got them in dual 4ohm so they'll work with most monoblocks that make that much power--

I would say go for it-- They're on sale and I've heard many people say positive things about their power output and durability--

The BX2006D looks to be enough @ 2000w rms -- 1ohm --

hifonics isnt bad at all for the price. I am using their 4 channel amp for my interiors no problems and good sound.

hifonics is decent for cheap audio power, but it's far from good

Sound quality doesn't matter as much for a sub-- (especially some square kickers) -- SQ matters a lot more with components--

The main thing is a solid power supply and the fact that it ain't gonna die very soon for a sub amp-- plenty of power helps too--

Yes exactly. Will a Hifonics sub be able to handle it?
And yes, they are dual 4ohm.

I would wire them like this:

Also to tickle my fancy, how would two amplifiers be wired together and hooked up to the headunit

Sure buddy-- you go ahead and wire two amps together-- It'll be like that time you and me tied our cats together and threw em' over the clothesline--

Really -- the 2000w amp will be enough-- but get the 3200w amp if you want, just be sure to put two extra batteries in the trunk and buy a 200A alternator or have it rebuilt by nationsautoelectric.com --

I think you'll be starving for power with either amp to be honest-- and a pair of batteries in the trunk is a good start-- maybe a single yellow top or a nice 750A deep cycle -- The deep cycle will last a year or two, then just get another one-- $75 or so for a decent one--

I just got my L7's installed today. Man they pound and sound great. I am running two separate amps, the Kicker ZR360.
