Default Speaker Info;

Hi, I wanted to purchase some speakers; can anybody tell me what size speakers I will need... I did not want to open up the doors; before the actual day of install; since It may take some time to get them (online order)

I've got the factory radio (non ML) IS350 2006

What speakers are people placing in their cars?
I was thinking Folcal, or MB Quard Q's or Boston Pros LF.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I was thinking of going with only a speaker replacment job without any amplifier install...

NICE! Thanks for the info; I could not get a better reply as the old saying goes a picture tells a thousand words!

DJ Amtrax, I will do the same with the Dynamat; what speakers did you use for your install?

I am not doing anything with the speakers/ system until the dash kit is avaliable. The stock deck/amp sounds like crap. Upgrading the speakers will be useless. I am planning McIntosh system.

How hard was it to take apart the door panels? I was thinking about these speakers: System 340.

An amp will be required; and will have to consider a sub also..
I've got a left over Boston Acoustic sub with an amp mounted on it.. but takes up so much trunk space

if you want to run high quality Dyn's make sure you've got PLENTY of power going to them.

Or hit up some Focal Polyglass V2's and run a JL 300/4 and you'll be good to go

88supramki, I see you've had first hand with the Focal Polyglass V2's how about the K2's. The specs show up as being a very efficient speaker.

I've got an old Phoenix Gold MQ430 amp do you think that could do the job with the polyglass v2's as you mentioned?

The PG should do you fine. My experience with the Focals is that they do need reasonable power to get them going nicely. I would say 75 watts RMS is a nice number to work with.

One thing I did recently with my set of Alpine Type X components is I Bi-amped them with an Alpine PDX-4.150 4 channel amp. I ran the midbass off of two channels and the tweets off of the other two. NIGHT AND DAY! So much better midbass and much better control with my tweeters (I can fade them from eachother). If you get a set of bi-ampable components and use good power for them then that'll be enough to rock your world.

K2P's are very nice when you biamp them as well. I loved my V2's, bang for your buck they are awesome. The only reason I got rid of mine was because I got an AWESOME deal on some Utopias. I'm still debating on whether I'm going to biamp those with my 2 300/2's
