ES-350 help/info needed
I did some searching and couldn't find any detailed information in the factory stereo in the new ES-350. My wife and I have one on a slow boat from Japan right now. No nav, just the regular stereo.
I've seen some of the aux input adapters in the FAQ's so I can add XM using the Terk tuner. At minimum, I'd like to add XM and iPod and have the steering wheel controls work on both. At most, I'd like to add a complete new system. Aftermarket head unit with XM and an iPort port, new speakers, amps AND keep the factory steering wheel controls.
Based on that, is it feasible to put a new system in? How about partial upgrades like just the head unit or just the speakers? Has anyone here done it (and documented it)?

Yes, it has factory support for XM but I wanted iPod as well.
Factory XM unit - $299
Vais - $299 + Terk XM $50 = $350.
Vais - $299 + iPod = $???
But Vais does not manufacture a device that supports both XM and iPod with both artist/song info displayed.
I asked about a complete upgrade because I can get a Pioneer head unit that supports iPod without an adapter and displays artist/song information. It also has XM support with the and displays the artist/song information as well. All of this for $260.
I was just curious is anyone had done an upgrade to the 350's sound system. I did see a trim plate for a nav system posted in the 350 forum but that thread was locked quickly due to the appearance of a marketing post.
