Default a/d/s 336 is

Anyone....
Can 336 is components go into a GS400 without modifications to the doors or dash?
How about the stock wiring?
Any info would be appreciated.
THanks

Mike,

From what I remember, the 336's are 5.25 inch. You'll have to modify (speaker baffle/spacer ring, etc) but you get to keep the stock grilles for a "stealth" installation. Great speaker set though!

When I was first look at speakers (and before I got my Dynaudio's ), I ordered a set of ADS speakers from my local dealer...

Here's the thread --> link

The order ended up getting canceled because of what the dealer said were issues at ADS. He told me they'd had problems getting new shipments and that ADS had in fact filed for bankruptcy... I ended up canceling that order and going with Dyns from another place.

This may have all been BS because the dealer was dropping the line, but I'd look into it. The fiscal viability of the manufacturer will have impacts on quality build of the item, as well as (of course) long term support.

Default Thanks for the info guys

Dave...
I have had these speakers for 4 years now.....they are great speakers. I had them in another car and decided to see if they could be installed into the GS.
Percy....How easy would it be to fabricate a custom mounting for these 6.5" woofers?
I dont want to hack up the doors by any means.
Is fiberglass the way to go?
Thanks
MIKE

Mike,

You don't need the fiberglass, unless you really want the headache! Just use the stock door grilles, 1/2 inch MDF or birch, 1 inch spacer ring. Basically the same as the Dyn install procedures. What's the mounting depth of the 336's?
