1) They're all 4" nominal. They are mounted in black plastic enclosures in each door. The 1" door tweeters are also wired to the enclosure.
2) The Nakamichi versions are somewhat better than the Pioneer, but not enough to matter enough.
3) Replacing them is good.

forgot to ask about mounting depth. the speakers i'm putting in have a mounting depth of 1 3/8 inches.
will they fit?
here's a pic of my speakers. they are the last USA made jbl car speakers. GTO-422 with rubber surrounds.
