CD changer display reads "E 01" what? no tunes?

im not sure if the Alpine six disc changer for my 92 SC400 in the trunk is a factory add on, but im pretty sure it was profesionally installed and the clever hide away changer controls point to a factory install. Anyways, its been showing a message "E 01", it wont play anything and it wont give my CD's back to me. Only thing ive tried is unplugging the changer at the base and turning the radio on and off in different combinations trying to get the thing to snap out of it. I know i should check for current since it wont even give my magazine back but has anyone had similar problems? I need some help

It probably wont work with the factory head unit.

Look for a SC cd changer online(ebay) or in the classifieds of this forum.

I just removed a cd changer and I have plans to remove the navi any day now. So if you are interested in just let me know. Not asking much $110 shipped
