Speaker Noise
Hi,
Posted this is in the RX 300 section but not many responses.
I have a 2001 RX 300 AWD with 3,300 miles on it. I started to notice noises.
Stereo- which is the Premium/Std edition. Seems to be some rattle/vibration coming from drivers side. This is mostly noticible when playing certain tracks such as Claptons," Change the World" that have good, clean bass.
I decided to fade all the sound to the front left side and it seemed to diminish. When I return it to a normal equalization it returns again. ?
As an fyi, I usually have the bass & tremble settings no higher than 2 when it occurs and the midrange at zero to one. The volume level is about 4.
I also notice more sound/vibration when outside the car on the drivers side.
My initial guess is the speakers vibrating in the door panel. Does anyone know if the speakers are shielded or have inserts around them?
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
I am due back for the 5 k service in 1500 miles.

Have the guys over at Lexus check it out. I have almost no experience with the RX300 but it doesn't really sound normal. You can usually crank up Lexus systems without any rattles.
