So it looks like my CD Changer is broke. I searched and found that these bad boys are boku bucks.

Is are there any aftermarket CD changers that will fit or does it have to be from Lexus?

1996 es300 cd changer is best replacement. bullet proof non skipping changer. all the bugs worked out by 1996. plays cdrs . there are no compatible aftermarket changers. the lexus has 4 wires committed to the bus communication. aftermarket changers have 1 wire max so no way to communicate with the headunit.

 

will the 96 ES300 changer fit into my 92' sc400 an have me still be able to use all the ***** an etc i already have?

 

drill out the 2 metal tabs that stick up from the amp bracket that are used for the 12 disc changer,. then the 6 disc can be mounted on top of bracket with 6 disc flip down door towards the trunk interior. picture enclosed,.some custom trunk lining work done on the enclosed picture. changer is mounted to a thin black plywood board mounted to top of amp bracket. all other controls work as usual and the 96 es300 changer is plug in and play. the 96 es300 changer made by pioneer is still used in 7 series bmw in the upright position it was such a good changer. it has different electronics but the basic mechanism is the same.

 

hmm ok thanks...so id only need actual 6disc changer...thats alot cheaper then me puttin up cash to buy a indash monitor.
