Default Hiss when bass hits only?

I'm trying to figure this out, and it's killing me. When music playing and there is very little bass, its extremely clear, however, when the bass hits, I get a nice little hiss out of the door speakers. Does anyone have any ideas what this is from?

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that I am running a 6-channel amp with the sub running of channels 5 and 6

I have a better description now. It is an intermittent digital hiss, kind of like when you hear a poorly encoded MP3 on a decent set of speakers, and it only seems to occur when power draw is somewhat high. Any ideas?

I think i've narrowed it down to a weak ground from the chassis back to the battery. Going to replace the main ground to see if it improves. I'll keep you informed.

everything is brand new by the way

well, that wasn't it... grounds were more than adequate. I talked to swiss audio and they suggested that I might have my gains set too high and the preout voltage is low and they suggested I get a line driver, but that doesn't make any sense to me as I get a hiss even when the RCAs are disconnected. In fact, the hiss only goes away whenever I get some higher frequency output from the amplifier.

Anyone have any ideas?
