Default DLS - Car Audio Champions?

Hey guys, I have an IS250 and was looking to start building my audio system.

Has anyone had any experience with these speakers/amps? The ones I'm looking to buy are the DLS Ultimate Iridium 6.3 (3 way) and DLS Ultimate A7 5 channel.

Or if not any recommendations? Thanks!

I've got the bigger brother of the DLS 6.3's - the DLS Iridium 8.3's. I've had them for about a year and a half now, running active in a Honda Accord deadened to hell and back...just recently took them out. Have had approximately 500wrms on each side (total 1000wrms for the front stage). 250 to each midbass, 125 to each midrange, 125 to each tweeter. Power handling is unlike any other on these components.

Anyways this is what I like/dislike about them:

Midbass is plenty...even the 6" midbass drivers are VERY good...but port the suckers and you'll NEVER complain about midbass .

Midrange, I absolutely totally love to bits!! Can't get better for the price, unless you spend $1000 on a DIY set . Female vocals are absolutely superb as are male vocals...in short...one driver handles the WHOLE vocal range . Just make sure if you run active you crossover from about 450hz upwards to about 6khz after which you should let the tweeter take over, otherwise you'll have a bit of a "gap" in the frequency response .

Tweeter: I don't really like it, it's too much on the soft side...but that's understandable since it's a cloth dome..some people like it, some don't...I personally prefer metal domes as opposed to cloth domes. I'd much prefer the XR tweeters over these...the detail in the tweeters is acceptable but nothing spectacular...only good thing about them is the power handling. I've had about 150wrms to each tweeter in the active setup, and they took it like a champ .

Overall the speakers are VERY revealing...if you're planning on playing MP3's or anything with a low quality recording then you can rule these out .

awesome. Thanks for the replies! I may have to A/B dls with morels to see.

As for the amp, as much as I would love to get Zapco, I think I might not have the budget for those. Any recommendations?
