I am planning on buying a jensen hu vm9021ts. what's with all of this negative about jensen. over the years I had 3 pioneer and 1 kenwood and there are not bulletproof. years ago I wouldn't think about jensen but the features that I am looking for in a indash dvd player would cost almost a grand with the other big names. I remember jensen from the 80s. I bought a dual indash dvd player couple months ago. its in the same price range of the jensen and it is working great. I am not looking for competion type equipment. I won't be using the built in amp in the radio because I already have 2 amps. the jensen pre amp voltage is only 2volt out put, but the amp will take care of that. most decent eqs come with over 5 volt output. clarion 746 is 7 volt pre out for $65, so there is option to boost jensen 2 volt output. I really like this radio because of the features and the price. I was looking at this radio for almost a year (jensen vm9020ts then vm9021ts). some of these comments I read make me feel like the first pothole I hit the screen will fall to the floor. like I said before years ago I wouldn't even look at a jensen, but now I have to balance the features, reliability, and price. My price range is $400-$500

Buy high end stuff used before you spend $20 buying or 10 seconds looking at Jensen stuff--

 

Jensen = garbage

Barely passable. NOT Lexus quality, an insult to install into a Lexus. The parts they use are bare minimum quality.

I heard Jensen and Dual are the same company.

 

Dual is actually a formerly very well respected German brand name, way back in the 70's. They made great turntables. But some Far East company recently got hold of the brand name and logo to slap on their cheapo crap.

 

I concur. Jensen is really nothing but cheap, crappy product designed by cheap, crappy people in a cheap, crappy country made by small children with learning difficulties. Ok, that went a tad overboard. I appologize if I offended anyone.
