Default Lexus GS300 Deck install...

Hey guys i'm new to the forum. I just got a 99 GS300 a few weeks ago and before it I had a 98' accord with a system. My first install in the GS will be a deck. I just purchased a dash install kit and was wondering what kind of harness i'll need and where I can get it, i'm sure earmark wants to charge me an arm and a leg for everything...anyways is there anything special about doing a deck install on a lexus? i don't need the cd changer because I have an Alpine deck with an iPod connector and that's all I use. Is there anything else i'll need to purchase for the install? Thanks guys!

First congratulations! Second which kind of headunit do you have? Pioneer or Nakmichi? Third do you want to sell the Head unit if it's a nakamichi. 4th the install is fairly easy. You are going to need a philips screwdriver or bit and a 10mm bit or ratchet. Also you need to have a pry bar or a flat thin bar to pry out the cig combo tray and the time/vent cluster. Use the phillips to remove the screws on the top and bottom. Done it's out. Use the 10mm to remove the radio from the thermostat and there you go. Hope this helps!
