Default rear speaker question

questions about rear speakers in my lx470. only had my lx for about a month before i had a custom install (pioneer avhp7500/vizualogic headrest screens) so not sure what I may or may not be missing. My problem....the sound coming from the rear speakers is very (very) low, even if I fade the majority of the output to the rear speakers. Kids are watching a dvd in back and front seat occupants are getting blasted with the sound effects from the front speakers. Just recently sat in the back on a trip and noticed that the sound really is very low to the rear passengers. Almost to the point that has me wondering if the install was done correctly???
My question is to other lx owners...or to other AVHP owners...does anyone else have this problem? Or does anyone have any suggestions?
Feel kind of silly going back to the installer since I have had this done over two years ago, but just noticed it.
Thanks in advance for help.
