XM/Sirius Radio... PLEASE VERIFY!!
I have an 04 LS430 with either XM or Sirius.. I have the SAT/AM button on my ML System..
The system is hooked up because when I press the button, I get the SAT display on my NAV Screen, but it is only the DEMO version as I did not pay for the subscription.
My question is,
If I have this SAT/AM button on my dash, this means that I have a module and/or tuner/brain in my car somewhere and it is plugged into my ML AMP somehow since I get sound out of it.
Is this brain plugged in directly into my ML AMP or does it use some sort of FM Modulator?
If it is indeed a direct plug to my amp, can I somehow TAP into this source and use it to get sound out of say... Play Station, Xbox, DVD..etc???
Thanks
Mike

You're playing with fire. You would need special adapters that are not necessarily made yet, or a lot of electronics experience.
You may be able to use a Peripheral, Soundgate, VaisTech, or Blitzsafe aux input adapter to do what you want, if one of them makes one for your vehicle model/year. Check their websites, and/or call them.

Hi Flippu,
1. The Sirius/XM unit is either connected to the head unit or the ML amp (but I am going to guess the head unit since you see it on the Nav - I could be wrong). I am fairly certain that it is not an FM modulator.
2. If you had an 07 ES you would have a 2.5mm jack in your center console to use with a headphone output from almost any device, but you do not. I do not think that there is an input jack on the satellite radio; they use some kind of nonstandard connector that is used for power, sound, and control. As engin_ear stated there are units, such as the VaisTech (which I use) for my iPod, that also has a pair of RCA inputs for an "aux" connection.
