Default Need quick advice ASAP!! about LLC

Hi,

im upgrading sub in my 2001 GS300 w/ non-ML/naka (pioneer + nav)
trying to find an LLC
i want to bid on this but before i do...
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...DME:L:RTQ:CA:1

would this one work?

it seems that its a high level to low level converter
does my car need a low level to high level instead?

description says 3w to 7w

and the seller says
its made by american international model number LC-300

It converts high level audio (from speaker) and converts it into low level audio (RCA output) and has 2 channels (Left and right)

also has 2 adjustment dials to adapt to the output levels so best suit the amplifier its connected to

Does your amplifier have low (RCA) and high (speaker) level inputs? Or just low level? Most amps only have low level inputs. If it has both low and high, you don't need an LLC. If it only has RCA inputs, you need an LLC.

And a low to high converter is called an amplifier.

That link doesn't work for me. It asks for a login and password. And if I try to register, it asks for some manufacturer and code.

lol im on drugs then

http://www.stylestandard.net/oswego/login/alpinelogin
thats the page i was talking about without login

i guess alpine outsourced a database system from stylestandard.net so alpine users have their own page for special access

i uploaded the PDF to this page
http://www.upload2.net/page/download...0_ptg.pdf.html
link is near the bottom of that page

the manual doesnt say much
just wiring diagram and simple specs mostly

here is a more details description of the amp

Your amp can take speaker level inputs (hi level) so just tap into the speaker wire coming from the stock amp.

and stick them into RCA?

so directly run the stock sub wires in the trunk into where?

funny thing is ive paid the ebay auction $11 USD already

but since amp only has RCA input, ill have to use the LLC right?
will this LLC handle the high level?

1. Locate Front Right and Left speaker wires coming from stock amp. I don't know the color of wires but I think some members on here have a wiring diagram for it. Or you can remove door panels and find out the color of wires going the speakers.
2. Tap the Left and Right inputs on LLC to the corresponding left and right channels of the speaker wires from above.
3. Using RCA cables connect one end to the outputs on the LLC and the other end to the inputs on the amp. Connect power, ground and remote turn on to amp. Connect sub(s) to outputs on amp.
4. Adjust level on LLC and amp to your likings.

That amp does have high level inputs so you should use them. An LLC is inferior compared to the high level input on an amplifier. Yes, the input will accept your factory amplifier's high level output.

It sounds like you're missing the wiring harness that is used for the speaker level outputs. Its an alpine amp? Call up alpine and get this harness, its a little plug with 4 wires sticking out. You would connect your speaker wires to those wires and then the plug/harness goes into the amp. You could try and create your own harnesss but it would be a pain.

doh...
maybe ill try to ghetto mod the amp

do u think its safe for me to solder the cable onto the plug in the inside of the amp

im looking at the connector inside the amp now, its got some clearance for the solder i think
also asking the seller if hes got the harness still, i doubt he does though
sigh

just how much inferior is the LLC to the high lvl conversion in the amp?
