Default How do i test an amp with just multimeter?

I plan to buy this second hand amp off a guy
because its not convenient to hook it up to check its functionality, is it possible to check that all is well with a multimeter without hooking the amp up to power?

I highly doubt you can use a multimeter to test an amp to see if it's working properly. Best bet is to bench test it with a high amperage 12v DC powersupply or a car battery.

you wont be able to check to make sure it fully works. Easiest method is to actually install it. Second would be to hook it up with power and check the output with an O-scope, but why do that when you can actually hear the source

the guy looks fine and not a drug dealer type so i think i can trust him
plus i picked it up from his house so i know where he lives
and he told me he will refund the cash if it doesnt work

btw how much does benching an amp cost normally
and how long does it take?
