Is this the keycode?
The other day I locked my master key in the trunk. I've since outsmarted the car's alarm system after getting in my cab via locksmith, but not before attempting to order a key from lexus, only to find that they don't have my keycode on file. I'm now looking for the keycode so i can order a wallet key and spare master.
When my key was locked in my trunk, I began to take apart the pass. door to find the keycode on the lock cylinder before I tried the other fix that worked. While looking at the trunk lock from under the dash yesterday I noticed it has a 4-digit number stamped into a metal tab at the back of the cylinder. I believe that's the keycode but I'm not sure.
Can anyone who knows their keycode confirm if this is how the keycode is "written" on the passenger lock cylinder too? I was told by lexus the "only way" was to take apart my door, but I don't trust that that's anything more than a stock answer. Maybe someone can look down at the back of their dash trunk lock cylinder and verify that that matches their keycode. You might have to take off the small black panel to be able to see it. My car is a 98 sc400.
Feel free to pm me, thanks for any info.
