This can be complicated. Usually pins push into a connector and a small metal tab on the pin snaps past a stop in the plastic of the connector. To replace, you'd need to know the manufacturer, most likely Japanese, and then be able to buy the correct pins for that connector type. You may also need the correct crimping tool for the particular pin type.
To remove a pin, you would push down the metal tab that holds it in, then pull it out. Very easy to screw things up if you lack experience. You may be able to fix the *connection* without having to fix the connector.
Yeah, might be good to have a picture (a close-up) of the connector to see if any of us can recognize it.....
Some of the automotive engine connectors are pretty much sealed with epoxy or molded into place. Headaches and nightmares. When they meant weatherproof connector, they meant it. That's probably worst case scenario. Still need to look at a pic when you get a chance.
