my unlock button sets off alarm...why

the button on my sc400 key sets off the alarm instead of unlocking/locking...how can I fix this without paying $200 at the dealership

Open up your key and check it - there may be a short, or bad contacts, esp. if you recently dropped it. Also replace the battery as a precaution, it's cheap insurance.
