audio set up ?
I'm planning on getting an Eclispe AVN series head unit pretty soon... For those of you who have similar setups, is aftermarket amps, speakers, or subwoofer necessary? I am satisfied with stock sound quality and really want to just maintain stock sound quality? Will I be able to install this head unit without having to replace any other components and still be able to keep the stock sound?
yea..this can be done...im doing mines thursday when my dash kit comes in...i too will be doing a eclipse setup..just dont know if i want to use the 8443 i have in my closet or the touch screen eclipse i have in my tahoe(gas is gettin to stupid out here..i dont drive it much anyway)...but ONLY use the rca's outputs...u have to find the speaker leads on the car side and slice the male rca's to them and plug them into ur radio..but remember..you have to power up the amp to find the speaker wires unless u have a wire diagram of the car..ill try to see if i can find one for u..what year and modle do u have? ohh yea..make sure u use the amp turn on and not the antenna 12volts to power up ur amp..i seen it done b4...lol...amp only comes on when u play the radio and nothing else...lololol
Just get a Toyota wiring harness adapter kit (ebay, Crutchfield, etc.).
I can't understand whay you would put in such a great headunit such as an AVN and not upgrade the rest of the system. It's like putting racing fuel in a Yugo.

if u find the right plug..i hope u dont blow nothing..hooking up high lrvel speaker leads from the radio to the amp will most likly blow either ur radio or amp..(hook it up and play it for a few mins...see if ur radio gets hot quick as hell or ur amp..)..high current going into low current inputs =burnout..lexus radios are low level outputs..hook up a speaker b4 the amp and see how low the volume will be with the radio up all the way
just my .02

You might have to add a small aftermarket amp to power the factory sub.
