Inside the MARK LEVINSON amp...

Does anyone know exactly where the amp in the LX470 is located? Mine just blew a month ago and I bought one off of ebay. Should be here any day and want to replace this myself.

Glad to hear that you didn't take apart the amp from your car!

You'll need their electrical wiring diagram for this. Go to your local lexus dealership and ask for the EWD. They should be able to help you out.

ML amp opened up.
Analog Devices SHARC processor. More info found here.
http://www.analog.com/en/prod/0,2877...21065L,00.html
11 pairs of NPN/PNP discrete power transistors. 2N6488/2N6491 pairs.
http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/data...4/2N6488.shtml
2 capacitor banks, one totaling 14,400 microfarads, the other totaling 18,800 microfarads. Standard issue caps, nothing special about them. Electrolytics.
One small fan to cool the whole unit. The rest of the cooling relies on the outer chassis. ML packed ALOT into the amp/processor. The higher than normal (compared to pioneer/nak) mortality rate is more than likely due to heat.
This amp was donated by one of the CL members (thanks Nate!) for me to look at.
More pics to follow.

Wouldn't be worth it to hook up the amp if you're using as an "aftermarket" source. I don't have the electrical pinouts, might want to consult your local lexus dealership as they have the Electrical Wiring Diagrams.

I have a 2005 GX470 with the Mark Levinson audio amplifier. I plan to add a Bluetooth Receiver directly to the Mark Levinson Amplifier, so that I will have a Bluetooth receiver without touching the audio units mounted in the console.
Can someone please upload the Mark Levinson Amplifier's connector wiring map? So that I will know which pins I should connect my external Bluetooth receiver to.
