cleaner disc killed my cd changer!
So I did a little searching on here, and most people reccomend trying out a cleaner disc as that often helps skipping. Well I went and bought one, put it in the changer, it played the audio instructions for cleanig, and I followed.
Then the sound stopped and ERR popped up on the screen. That little bastard broke the goddamn changer!
First the cleaner disc was stuck in the unit, but after sitting there pressing the reset button a ton, i finally got it to come out, but now the changer is totally inoperable. It makes some pitiful noises, but will not play any CD's, and the head unit acted as if it was not there, so I just took it out. So now I think it would make more sense to get a reasonably priced aftermarket head unit and wire it into the stock amps, as opposed to buying a used changer and having it break again. I really didn't like having to get in the trunk to change CD's from the start, but this sucks! Just a warning for others out there with skipping problems, stay away from those cleaner discs!
