cd changer compatibility......help!??
my stock cd changer doesn't know there are cd's in the cassette. it flips through them but can't read them. (these are original cd's.
2 places (dealership and sound shop) recommend just replacing the unit at $550 plus install, and mention compatibility issues w/ goingt w/ an aftermarket changer (less expensive, equal or better quality).
first off, any thoughts on the problem of the changer not seeing the cds?
second, any cd changers you know are compatible w/ the lexus stock head?
thanks

I just sent my whole unit to www.radiomanrepair.com. They are replacing it with a new mechanism that they claim is much better than the original.

thanks, i've contacted them.
i've since found out that the nav system and stock head were stolen and replaced prior to my buying the car. thus, my questions for the experts out there is do you think it's an issue w/ wiring, w/ the head, or w/ the changer based upon the symptoms?
thanks.
