Default please help with install

i have a 99 GS 400 and want to put a pioneer cd player i bought in it. i got the dash kit with no problem but finding a wiring harness has been crazy. i have bough 2 harness's so far and non of the wires would match up with my cars. does anyone have any ideas

There are no direct hook up harness for the GS... you have to tap the wires (aka.. butcher the oem harness).

use the search ..there are numerous threads regarding the wire color codes..

If you're looking at the power/ground/+12 volt supply, then the toyota 87+ harness by Metra will do. You WILL HAVE TO REWIRE the harness to make it work with the Lexus, but the shell will fit the connector.

If you're looking at tapping full audio...that's a different story.

metra model is 1761 they also make a harness for amplified toyota/lexus systems 8112. not sure if it woks that well in a lexus
