OK, so I know a bunch of people have posted about this. But I've searched, gone through a month's worth of back posts, and haven't found the answer yet.
==> Has anyone successfully played MP3s off a DVD on a Mark Levinson Lexus stereo?
I don't mean you used MP3s as the source to create a normal audio DVD, I mean the DVD(-ROM) has 4 or 9 (or whatever) GB of MP3s on it.
Judging by all the threads about this over in the 2nd Gen IS forum and my.is, I think a LOT of people would like to know. Some simple directions on how to do this, or a pointer to them online would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Unfortunately ML's DVD changer can't play MP3's on a DVD (only plays DVD-video and audio). The owner's manual specifically states so, and I have verified it. On the upside, each CD-R still holds 700 mb of mp3, which means you have at least 6-10x the music capacity of an audio CD (depending on the bit rate).

Well, thank you for clarifying. 700MB x 6 CDs = 4.2GB, still way short of a 20GB iPod. And that ability comes with the stock stereo. So basically, the ML system (+ a DVD burner) is no substitute for an iPod, looks like. Oh well, still gonna get it, just for improved sound quality alone...
