Default Remote starter for factory alarm?

I want to add a remote start function to my 2001 GS430, but I do not want to install an aftermarket alarm system, i'm quite happy with the stock alarm. Is there a separate aftermarket remote start unit I can buy?

DEI Valet 561T Add-On Remote Car Starter Module

you can set it up so that it will start the car on say...3-unlock pulses. this is prolly the cheapest and cleanest solution short of the Luxlink. Now, the LuxLink is ~$300+install (i think) and the DEI is all $70-75+install.

Oh, and you will need to get a DEI 555X Bypass Module for ~$30 so that the car wont think its getting stolen everytime u try to remotely start it.

How hard are these things to install? I'm not an expert in wiring, most I've installed is some aftermarket HU's in a few hondas.

for something like remote start and especially with the demobilizer bypass which taps into the main harness id recomend that u leave it to the pros. unless, that is, you are VERY comfortable with vehicle security systems. and no, Sound systems and HU's are completely different since they dont deal with any other part of the vehicle aside from sound.

Default Rx330?

Anyone get this for their RX330? -- I'm sure it doesn't make a difference but just asking.

...nice, I've been looking for one for my friend's Honda Accord. He wanted something like my Luxlink remote starter so he wouldn't have to get another remote dangling on his keychain

oh you will also need this... bypass module for the lex 2000 and up

http://www.autotechs.com/items/item1019.htm

for the 98-99 you need the 555F bypass module but the 555U works also as an alternative.

This sounds like something I'd like to do. Does this setup require a module that holds onto one of the keys (assuming it has a chip in it)? Or is that what the 555F module does?

yup..you better hide it in a really good spot.. the key has to be put in the box. see the diagram.

Not too worried about the key... but I did call up a reputable installer and inquired about the 561T. They said I'd be better off with a system that provided its own remotes because of the superior range.

I did like having the longer range - but my main concern now is just starting up the car without walking out onto the driveway.

I knew there would be a catch....

It all depends if u want to deal with multiple remotes in your pocket...

someone needs to do this and create a write-up.

I would like the same thing for my GS430. I can unlock the doors from about 70' so that is more than plenty of range for me.

I'm looking to do this to my 2001 ES300... what does the LuxLink offer? I'm really new to these kinds of things, but I had a remote start on my Cavalier and I loved it... until the ignition system died (not related to the remote start)

Installation doesn't bother me, but waiting 15 minutes in the morning for the car to warm up when it's <5° outside does
