I just got an LS430 w/ the Ultra package for my wife.
We took delivery on tuesday.

The dealer wants me to bring it back to "install the
Lexus link", but nobody has been able to explain to
me what they are going to do to the car.

The sales person said it was a 5minute thing, the service advisor said it was 5 hours, so leave the car.

Are they installing hardware, upgrading software, what?

Everytime the car starts (or does it boot?), a woman's
voice says "Lexus Link Active."

thanks -

tom

Default Lexus Link

Tom,

the Lexus Link is the equivalent of the GM Onstar system. Sounds wierd that they'd have to do anything, all of that should have been done prior to delivery. Did they need to get any information from you like contact numbers etc.? I don't have Lexus Link, (not available in 2000 on the GS), but I have something similar, and they need 3 contact phone numbers for anti-theft alarm signal, roadside assistance etc. Or because it is so new they may have a software upgrade for it (you know the way software works - make it so it works and we'll send out a new release to fix the bugs later). Don't know if I helped you at all, but welcome to Club Lexus.
