(Remote) Starting problems
Hi, I had Hi-Fi buys install a remote start on my 1993 SC400 and it always takes two attempts before it actually starts. For example: I'll hit the button twice on the remote and then the car trys to turn over but fails. Luckily my remote start system trys again automatically 20 seconds later and it starts. It's not a big deal but sometimes is embarrising in public. I think it does that only when the car is cold or first thing in the morning even in the summer time. Is it the starter? Need help........

Which system did you get?
I had the DEI 550 ESP on my Legend and I experienced that when my battery was getting ready to die. Once I replaced my battery it went away. I am guessing with the current sensing, all the monitoring the battery has to be at 14v or something before it will attempt to crank the car. Not sure if that is it, but it could be the case. I changed mine and the problems went away.

Did they use current sensing or a tach wire when they installed? I personally only use a tach wire as that is the only sure way to know if the car started. BUT... if you have problems with the key also, it might be issues other than the alarm, like a fuel system problem.
