Default Need some help with a sub

Hey guys I purchased a 10 inch kicker sub and a 4 awg wirring kit for it. What amp should I get for it? the rms wattage on the sub is 300. I'm just replacing the sub so I'm not doing anything special but how do I go about connecting the wires from my old sub to the new amp?. If I get a 300 watt amp for ex can I just connect the 2 wires from my old sub into the new amp? or would that fry the amp/sub?. Basically what I'm trying to find out is there any special amp I need to be able to hook it up to the old sub wires. I heard something about bridgeable amps, is that what I need?
