this is a terrible pic but hopefully u can see what i'm asking about... i bought our gs with this AVH-P7500DVD installed:

i'm not sure what to call it, but the faceplate that surrounds the unit in the console has a huge gap around it. i'm not sure if this faceplate was meant for this unit and i'm hoping there is something that looks better than what is there now?

Anyone know anything about the NEO Ion IPOD module ?
It's a module that plugs into the rear of the factory stereo and allows you to charge and use your IPOD and retains full functionality of your stereo & CD.
I acquired one but don't know about performing surgery on my wife's GX with 3K miles on it in order to install. Radio removal looks to be a bit of a chore.
Is it a big deal ? Anybody take one (radio) out yet ?

I too have the avhp (you will love it) and I checked my install. It looks like they forgot to put a piece of "trim" (im like you..dont know what else to call it). The piece goes between the unit itself and the hole in the face plate.....sort of like a washer on a nut and bolt if you will. If your unit is the bolt...the hole in your console is the nut....the trim piece goes between them and sits outside of the console area, but between the unit and hole. Does that make any sense??? It sort of gives the install a more finished look. I think if you take your car into a good hi fi shop they will be able to fix it for you. good luck
