Question

to mgene, or who ever encounter this problem. I went back to the install shop to fix my loud thump noise that happends each time i shut off my radio. The shop owner told me that since i have the factory stereo there is no remote wire, so what they added was a adapter which works fine when the stereo is turn on, but not off there is a delay and loud "thump"...so is this true or is the shop full of sh!!!!please help resolve problem thanks.

Try a pac piece: www.go2pac.com i think this is a link to the site. They have a piece which might eleminate the turn off pop.

I have in the past been succesful using a 16-20 volt polorized capacitor with a value around 2000 mfd-4000mfd and a diode in line at the amp so it cant backfeed into the ingnition leed that is turning the amp on.

You put the polarized cap close to the amp on the remote turn on leed with the diode right behind it. The larger the value of the cap the longer it will take for the amp to shut off, I have used this to lower the pop on aftermarket systems but it might work on a oem add on.

I would private message Eric Holdoway (sp?), he probably has a solution if this does not work.

Hope this helps.

thanks all for your input so it seems that it is true that the popping nosie is a result of not having a remote wire from my factory oem radio. wish that they would of told me this early especially if a popping noise will result after install.
