Default battery relocation

ok i want to relocate my battery where the factory amp use to be. i did a search, and was told to start a new thread. so here it is. how thick does the wiring have to be and where is the best spot to ground? can i use my amp wire it look just as thick as the wire to the battery? thanx

No. Your factory amp wire is not the same guage as the battery cable. Go to a PepBoys or Strauss and get some 4 gauge battery cable. You really can't go too thick, only too thin. The heavier gauge wire the better. As far as grounding, any CLEAN spot is fine, so find an exising screw hole, clean it up and attach.

i'm sorry i am using an aftermarket amp wire would that be ok? it looks to be the samne size or a tad but bigger.

The guage is probably ok as the aftermarket one should be a minimum of 6 gauge wire but I don't know about the shielding. Me personally. I wouldn't use an a power line for an amplifier to connect my battery. I would get a length of battery cable made for that purpose.
