Default Head Unit Broken?

The Head Unit in my 98 GS300 was having some problems over the last yewar or so. At first the numbers would fade off of the display, now for the most part they are out completely.

Anyway, Im looking on ebay and saw an auction for both the unit and the ac/heat controls. It looked like it was one unit. Is that the case with this?

Also, is it a simple swap out?

If I decide to go aftermarket, is there any way I can still use my CD Changer?

Im not looking to spend a bunch of $, as my wife uses the car most of the time and will most likely be selling it in the near future, but nevertheless, want something that works.

Thanks.

I believe the headunit and the ac controls are 2 seperate parts. Since you want to retain your OEM cd changer I would consider just getting another OEM headunit to replace your old one.
