Default LS400 GPS nav -- fit any other models?

Just curious, does the GPS system from a 98 LS400 fit any other lexus models? It may be too large for say an SC300's dash, but I didn't have a measuring tape on me to check it

even if it did fit the sc has a analog amp and the 98 ls400 has a digital . this would make it very hard to change over the audio system. also the 98 is first year of avc lan communication system which the sc doesnt have . the wiring harness also is essential for retrofiting a ls400 navigation headunit. the dealer would want over 1000.00 just for the navigation wiring harness. salvage yards also will not pull out the harness due to time factor and would also have to charge almost as much as the dealer. so even if you have an ls400 95 to 2000 to install the nav into make sure you get the navigtation harness and the digital navigation amplifier as part of the purchase. i would recommnd not to buy used lexus navigation equipment unless the harness is included.

I already have the LS400 in question w/ the nav system. It's being pulled appart to fix a 99, so I have access to what ever I need off it. I'm not currently running any of the SC300 stock audio equipment either.

that still leaves the fitment problem. how do you propose to fit the headunit in the sc400 dash space. it barely accomodates a double din sized hesdunit. how would you fit in the 2 inches wider than the dash space unit. i have a jdm 1995 navigation headunit from a 95 soarer when they had factory navigation in the sc 400. its has flip out screen with single cd cassette and tape behind the scxreen and has a tv button and external tv tuner and is a high quality unit made by pioneer . but the nav system is one of those 9 navigation cd typesystem isnt updatable anymore. si it would fit just fine in the sc dash but it wouldnt really give you navigation. if you can ffit the ls400 haedunit in the sc dash by trinmming down the sides of the unit i will be glad to help with the harness hookup............................................................................................... the parts car from the 99 will have the correct amp under the passnger seat that can be adapted to the sc sound system you would have to use factory lexus speakers as the amp wont push speakers that have large magnets like on 100 watt and up speakers. also the subwoofer is only 2 ohms so cant use 4 ohm aftermarket sub.unless you kleep the present aftermarket amp running it. the voice nav guidance goes to front door speaker and is also 2 ohms so you need to go back to factory door speakers at least on the drivers side. the 99 la400 speakers would work but you wouls need the sc speaker boxes. -

Well, I got my old HU installed in the SC300 and modified some plates to block off the extra space. I'm now looking at using the nav system on another LS400 (for my father) but it's a 92.

Thanks for the info though, I appreciate it.
